^Lot 27 18RO-1 SPRINGFIELD 1861

U.S. Springfield Armory Model 1861 percussion musket, .58 caliber, Serial #NSNV. The musket is in very good overall condition with a 40” round barrel. The metal surfaces are in the white with small mars and scratches from carry and use. The barrel bands feature military inspection marks, sling swivels and the ramrod is retained. The receiver side plate is US marked and stamped, “1862” at the rear. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with dents and compressions , ending with a US marked, smooth steel butt plate. The bore is fair, the action functions and the markings are legible. Est.: $500-$1,000. (Antique).
